Google marked Freddie Mercury Day, September 5, 2011, with a Google Doodle video of the hit song, “Don’t Stop Me Now.” They invited songwriter and fellow Queen musician Brian May to share his thoughts:
“Freddie was fully focused, never allowing anything or anyone to get in the way of his vision for the future. He was truly a free spirit. There are not many of these in the world.
“To achieve this, you have to be, like Freddie, fearless—unafraid of upsetting anyone’s apple cart.”
Queen toured the world and created numerous hit songs, including “We are the Champions.”
Inspirational stories about people who overcame personal obstacles, trials and tribulations can bring out the best in people.
One might expect any rock star to be bold and over-the-top at all times, yet Freddie had to overcome his innate shyness.
Brian also said this about Freddie Mercury in the Google blog post:
“He gave people proof that a man could achieve his dreams—made them feel that through him they were overcoming their own shyness, and becoming the powerful figure of their ambitions.
“And he lived life to the full.
“He devoured life. He celebrated every minute.
“And, like a great comet, he left a luminous trail which will sparkle for many a generation to come.
What is holding you back?
Are you holding back out of fear? Perhaps you could use some daily inspiration and encouragement!
I just watched a great video about a way to bring your family together, whether it’s to remember 9/11 or simply to create a deeper sense of unity. You can watch the video now.
Lots of people search the web looking for such poems, but imagine coming together with your family and creating your own.
Powerful!
Your family’s thoughts, words and emotions mean so much more to your family than those of someone else.
The world is rapidly approaching an event that has not only touched every heart and every life in America, but many hearts and lives worldwide.
Early on the morning of September 11, 2001, the Twin Towers in New York City were attacked. They fell, taking thousands of lives. Other attacks also darkened that day.
I vividly remember the way people came together after those horrific events. America and the world pulled in a little closer, loved their families more, and looked for a deeper sense of community after the events of 9/11.
Indeed, for a while at least, people became more sensitive to what is truly important in life, namely their relationships with their family, friends, and their community.
As the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks approach, you may be looking for ways to talk about this event with your family, especially children who were young or yet unborn.
There are many kinds of families other than blood relatives. Your family might be a church community or group of friends. How you define “family” is entirely up to you.
Finding ways to pull your family a little closer together promotes peace. Because where there is family unity, there can be community unity and world peace.
Certainly, you can look for poems about family unity on the web, but why not create them yourself? You do not have to be a “poet” or a “writer” in order to create poems about anything that touches your heart.
No matter how you define family, or who makes up your family, each member has memories, emotions, and dreams.
So instead of looking for someone else’s words, why not co-create your own poems?
Here’s how you and your family can co-create your very own poems about family unity…
This activity is not about following rigid poetic structure.
You don’t have to write a sonnet, villanelle or any other structured poem.
It is not important for the lines to rhyme, it is not important for the lines to follow a specific poetic meter.
There are no rules, however, a recipe or template can help. These steps may help spark your creativity.
1. Choose a theme for your poem. Make it something simple and open, to encourage each family member’s creativity. Some ideas for 9/11 memorials are:
“We remember 9/11.”
“Messages for the next 7 generations.”
“My commitment to my family.”
Once you agree on a theme, it’s time for each family member to contribute to the family unity poem.
2. Have each person in your family write a line or stanza (which simply means a “set” of lines) for the poems about family unity that you create together.
3. Come together as a family and assemble the poem in whatever way makes sense.
You may wish to combine creating poems about family unity with a meaningful ritual, such as lighting a candle, saying a prayer, and/or sharing a meal.
Do what feels right for your family.
When you come together in love, whatever you do is right!
And to deepen family ties, your whole family can become members of the free 21-Day “I AM a Gift to the World!” Challenge. Because when you join, you receive daily inspiration and much more.
Inspirational Thoughts from Strolling hens? Really? Sure! These hens wander where they will, do as they wish, and live in complete harmony with their environment.
These hens follow the bent of their nature, as my friend TallTree says. They do not try to be dogs or fish. They simply ARE.
May these inspirational thoughts from my own hens get you thinking, “How can I live with freedom, ease and harmony?”
You truly ARE a gift to the world, right now, just as you are.
No specific deeds are required for you to be a gift to the world. It’s a “package deal” that comes along with yuo being born.
daily Inspirational Thoughts: Interesting Sights In Your Daily Life Inspirational Thoughts: Interesting Sights In Your Daily Life Today’s inspirational…
Inspirational Stories typically come from life’s trials and tribulations. I am so grateful for the difficulty that came to me in the story below, because it caused me to strengthen my own self-mastery and the power of my mind.
If you have ever trained a puppy, you know that they go through a couple of troubling seasons called “fear imprint stages.” When the fear stage comes on, things that never bothered the dog as of yesterday suddenly are a source of terror. As a dog owner and handler, you simply have to get them through it.
But imagine being me, and at the other end of the leash is the puppy who will become your guide dog – if she makes it. There is much more at stake than a typical pet being afraid of something you can control. As a renter, I was allowed to have a service dog in training, under the law, however if she “dropped out” by failing to do her job well, I could not keep her.
We had spent every waking and sleeping moment together since I took the wriggling 9-week-old pup from her mother’s side. She simply HAD to excel. Period. No other option. And in particular, she needed to be able to go on public transportation with me as I went through my day of working and running errands.
We had our challenges right from the start, because from our first car ride together, she got carsick. I kept believing she would grow out of it. When we first boarded a city bus together, she made a 3-foot drool puddle on the floor, which was thankfully already wet from snowy boots. “I believe in you,” I told her. She could outgrow that too, once we had taken a few rides.
One spring day, I was at a bus stop with baby Thunder. She had finally gotten over getting carsick every time we were in a car and drooling on every bus. Having conquered these tendencies, I felt we had accomplished a lot. She had become a champion rider who boarded any vehicle with wagging tail.
Except on that fateful day, it all fell apart.
Thinking that today was just like any other day, Thunder and I went to the bus stop. The bus rolled up, and my champion puppy – my future guide dog – turned into a simpering coward. She cowered underneath the bus bench, trembling violently. I literally had to drag her out by her guide-dog-in-training vest and force her to go up the steps.
One of the other passengers made a snide comment about what a great guide dog she was going to be if I had to guide her onto a bus. “She’s in training,” I said. “I’m sure you don’t do everything right the first few times either.”
That was a critical moment for her and for me. I realized she was in a fear stage, and it was up to ME to get her through it properly. Emotions of the handler transmit through the leash to the dog. If you’re anxious, the dog will feel it. If you’re upset, the dog will know. If you don’t believe in the dog, she will not believe in herself.
What would your natural thoughts be at a moment such as this? Remember, I had raised and trained the dog for several months at this point, and she was well on her way to becoming my guide dog. As my guide dog, she would help me get around obstacles, find doorways, and stay out of danger as we traveled together. If she failed, I could not keep her. Perhaps you would be running “brain TV” scenarios about the dog failing and you having to give her up after months of bonding and training. Maybe you would have doubts about your dog every time you approached a bus stop.
I needed to have unwavering faith in my dog’s ability to overcome her fear. I could not entertain even a moment of doubt in her, and I could not hide behind a venire of pretended faith either. She had to feel my confidence through the leash. She had to believe with every fiber of her being that all was well.
What did I do? I spent time each day visioning the two of competently and confidently traveling on buses, planes, cars, trains, moving sidewalks, and even escalators. I affirmed to Thunder that she is a confident and competent guide who keeps me safe.
It took her a couple of weeks to get past her newfound fear of buses. I kept my faith strong and told her everyday how much I believe in her. Thunder did indeed get past her fear. She learned how to guide me safely past obstacles, how to find bus stops, doors and mailboxes, and how to keep me safe when we traveled.
Thunder became the champion guide dog I knew she was. All I had to do was believe.
If you are finding it hard to keep your belief strong, then it’s time for an Extreme Thought Makeover! This book is actually a daily exercise that will take only 5 or 10 minutes to complete.
All the activities in Extreme Thought Makeover move you with joy, ease and freedom through a 37–day transformation process. The activities are “painless” and fun.

The realm of “outer space,” as most people call it, never fails to fascinate. This week continues to be cosmically interesting, with a number of space-related events that touch puny humanity in interesting ways.
Recently, the sun has been throwing off giant fireballs that are wreaking havoc on communications. Perhaps that’s the sun’s way of having indigestion?
Add solar flares to the mix and the retrograde progression of planet Mercury, and you have communication and electronics issues in abundance!
The next day brings even more fascination to the night skies.
The wee hours of August 13 offer a spectacular show with the Perseid meteor shower.
here are my own inspirational thoughts from seeing the meteor shower for the first time.
I remember being on a trip to the Grand Canyon with my mom and her husband. We were staying overnight in a little motel off the beaten trail with the intention of seeing the enormous natural landmark in the morning.
Mom and I got up in the middle of the night to go outside and watch for meteors.
Because we were far from city lights, diamond stars ignited the velvet black sky in spectacular array. Being city-born, never had I seen so many stars in the sky.
Knowing the stars are there and seeing them are two completely different experiences. Fun as a planetarium is, nothing human-made can out-do God!
Just as spectacular as the Grand Canyon was the Perseid Meteor Shower. Cosmic streamers stretch toward earth.
The challenge is catching those streamers. It’s as if they play “hide and seek.”
If you’re “tuned in”, you may feel where to look for the next unexpected splash of light. Otherwise, you will be turning this way and that in hopes of catching the sneaky little streaks of brilliance..
Away from city lights, the effect is quite literally breath-taking.
Cosmically coupled with this annual space-shower is a fly-by of the international space station. It passes over many USA locations in coincidence with the meteor shower.
How is a human being like the sun?
Gazing into the night sky tends to remind people of how small and insignificant each person seems to be.
Yet, perhaps not.
Imagine one little star in a universe full to bursting with other stars bigger, brighter and more magnetic than itself.
Does that one little star play small? Does it try to hide instead of shining?
NEVER!
This one little star, which could be Earth’s sun, does not feel insignificant and small.
It’s because the star, like everything in nature EXCEPT human beings, knows who it is and what it’s ultimate purpose in life is.
A star never has an internal emotional battle about whether it should shine differently.
A star never feels fat.
It never feels it should be brighter or dimmer than its nature dictates.
A star never strives to be a galaxy. It merely shines in its divinely appointed place in the heavens.
Imagine YOU being just like the star and simply allowing your true self shine!
Not TRYING.
Not EFFORT.
Simply, easily, effortlessly ALLOWING.
Allowing your true nature to shine is all that is asked of you.
The truth is that you ARE a gift to the world just as you are.
Inspirational Stories: What Can a Fantastic Autistic Man Named Dallas Coleman Teach You about Life?
Dallas Coleman has had a label most of his life. That label: Autistic.
That label assumes a barrier between him and the rest of humanity. That label means he is “unable” to
communicate with people in the usual way.
Dallas understands one language very well: The language of music.
Blessed with perfect pitch and perfect rhythm, Dallas effortlessly plays any instrument by ear. Among his instruments are piano, guitar, mandolin, fiddle, dobro, and harmonica, to name but a few.
Not only has he perfect pitch; but he also writes his own songs. He knows more about hit songs and artists than appear in many books.
A few years ago, a senator requested that Dallas write a song about what being autistic is like for him. At a McDonald’s Restaurant in Jefferson City, Missouri, he took a napkin and wrote the lyrics of “A Fantastic Man.”
Dallas’ biggest message is that no matter what situation you have in life, you are gifted, blessed and worthy.

A young baluga whale grooving along to mariachi music has caused a media sensation. He has appeared on numerous global television shows, and the YouTube video has gone viral.
The whale is clearly moving with the music. He hears adn responds to the sound of music. Watch the video now.
Interestingly, this whale has a lot to teach humans.

#2 – Next, he is in the present moment. The whale isn’t stressing about what he SHOULD be dong instead of enjoying the music.

When looking for time management tools, first take a look at your life and realize how much you are getting in your own way.
Are you multi-tasking?
Are you letting your thoughts wander where they will like an unruly toddler?
These time management tools will get you started:
belly-breathe (let your belly rise and fall while breathing)
Stay in the present moment.
Keep your thoughts under YOUR control.
Get the most important task done.
Reduce stress.
Get enough rest.
Time management is not about wrestling time into submission. It’s really about time MASTERY.
If you’re tired of running around, feeling frazzled and overwhelmed, and feeling like you’re constantly “behind,” then y you definitely need better time management tools.
The good news is that mastering time is both easy AND fun. It’s not about doing MORE in less time. It’s about doing LESS.
The Time of Your Life gives you simple tools. Applying even 1 tool will make a marked difference in how you feel every single day.
A woman whom I’ll call Ange was having a rough life. she’s a highly educated person, a certified school teacher, and a person who wants to believe everything will work out.
After job hunting for months, and her self-confidence had taken numerous gut punches. She began feeling as if nobody wanted her. “I wonder who will be desperate enough to hire me?” she moaned.
Since she complained to me and I have a no complaints zone, I asked her if she would be willing to allow me to help her shift her energy.
“I doubt it will help.”
Ah – the power of attitude! What one believes is what shows up in life. Her desperation was NOT likely to win her a job interview, much less a job..
Ange had been doing the right tasks, such as applying for jobs, having the right credentials and putting forth effort, but her attitude blocked her from receiving what she desired.
All she could see around her was what was WRONG. That alone was sufficient to shut her off from her divine Source and turn people away.
Ange had become a psychic drain whose negativity sucked the life out of any room she entered.
A true change of thoughts can have magical and instantaneous results.
Ange got 2 calls the day we had our heart-to-heart. Both arranged interviews: 1 by phone and 1 in person.
One of the jobs was in the state where she hoped to find work. The district is in a small town, which she prefers. She would teach the age group that suits her skills best.
The next day, on the way to interview for the teaching job in her preferred location, another district about a hundred miles away called to interview her.
As Ange met with the principal and teachers, toured the school and looked around town, she had the feeling of coming HOME. And as it turned out, the district hired her.
What made the difference?
having all the right credentials in a job situation is useful, yet many skilled people remain jobless.
Doing all the right tasks is important – yet it is not enough.
A bad attitude kills results like nothing else.
How to Break the Bad Attitude Habit
First, don’t fool yourself into thinking you have a great mindset.
If anything if “off” in your life – such as
lack
wanting
desperation
not enough
it’s not life, it’s your approach that is at the heart of the issue.
Next, be aware of all the sources of negativity.
Trouble comes at people from the outside by letting in negative news, gossip, negative people, talking about what’s not the way you want it, temptation to bad habits, and media that focuses upon the negative.
An event happening is not an excuse for negative thinking.
A thought running in your head is not a compulsion to think it over and over. That’s your choice.
Decide right now to keep away from any and all sources of negativity.
Trouble comes from within in the form of multitasking, defensiveness, low confidence, blaming, worry, and looking for the “black cloud” in every silver lining.
Take responsibility for your own thoughts, words and actions. Make sure to always have positive messages in many formats ready. You might need a positive thought for the day at any moment!
Finally, gently course correct whenever anything shows up (a thought, for example) that is not aligned with your well-being. Put nourishing media, thoughts, books, and more around you at all times.
One way to receive daily inspiration is to join the 21–Day “I AM a Gift to the World!” Challenge, because you receive daily inspiration and inspired resources to bring back the joy and delight you desire.
